My will/Thy will?

This weekend we heard a message about God's ONE Prayer becoming our ONE prayer. It reminds me of this scripture

Psalms 37:4 (NIV) Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Someone once said, "If all you want is to want what God wants, then what you want is probably what God wants". Think about that. To have my desires become his desires...to love the things that He loves...to care about what He cares about...this is what it means to delight yourself in Him. When you do this, your selfish and often destructive desires are transformed into His disires-He gives you the desires that are enmeshed with His desires. In fact, they are His desires.

In this transformed heart environment, we pray YOUR will be done, YOUR kingdom come. If we were to be honest, some of our prayers are more like MY will be done, MY kingdom come. God knows what is best for us, in fact, he knows what is perfect for us. If we can surrender our hearts and minds He will show us.

Romans 12:2 (NLT) Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is.

Go to God without an agenda today and just rest in His presence. Seek to know His heart. Desire to know HIS will for you. Believe that His will is good, pleasing, and yes PERFECT!

Don't forget to join us for Wednesday Night Live every Wednesday @ 6:30 pm for prayer & fasting. Start fasting on tonight, and we will share a meal Wednesday night.

This morning's meditation went much better. With few interruptions I was able to just sit and be in His presence. It truly was amazing. I started by informing my children that mommy needed alone time and when the timer went off they could interrupt me but not until then. I went outside and sat on the patio and just focused on being in God's presence. I really enjoyed my time and as it neared the end I was saddened because I didn't think i could fit in time with God as well as time with my mom. it was then that I heard Him say it was time to let go. i instantly fought this because i don't want to let go. anyone who has lost someone they love knows this feeling. and then i heard Him say His will not mine. I accepted that and instantly felt a peace about it. imagine my surprise when I came in to read your blog confirming His will...NOT mine. I am so thankful for this time today. God is so good and faithful and I know that He will continue to fill me with peace...His peace that surpasses ALL my understanding.

Romans 12:2 is literally my One Prayer, that people stop following the ways of this world, but adopt God's ways so that His kingdom will spread here on this earth. There is a night and day difference even thinking God's way, and now I make every effort trying to dabble in the blessings that are associated with His instructions. That includes meditating which I obviously am poor at.

In my 20 minutes this morning, I focused on God's love. Amazing. God is love. Everything He does springs from his love.

Creation poured out from his love. He loved Adam and Eve. His love for them even influenced his discipline when they chose disobedience. Amazing.

His love inspires compassion to the poor, the oppressed, the sick, the fatherless, the widows, . . .

We are most like God when we love. Think of it; faith expressed in love (Gal. 5:6)

My one prayer this morning is,
"Lord, may love be the motivation for everything I do."
